Key Facts

  • Applicant: One SME (EU or associated country)
  • Grant: Up to €2.5M, covering 70% of eligible costs
  • Equity: Up to €10M additional investment through the EIC Fund
  • Success rate: Under 10%, but strongest outcomes in cleantech, healthtech, and deeptech
  • Process:
    1. Short application + pitch deck + 3-min video (submit anytime)
    2. If accepted, full proposal for one of the cut-off (Stage-2) deadlines

Eurostars: Collaborative Projects for R&D-Driven SMEs

Eurostars is ideal for companies wanting to co-develop a new product, service, or technology with an international partner.

Unlike the EIC Accelerator, it’s collaborative, more flexible, and has a higher success rate.

  • Who can apply: SMEs and midcaps (under €300M turnover) as project leaders; research institutes and large companies can join as partners
  • Consortium requirement: At least two organizations from two Eurostars countries
  • Funding rate: Finnish SMEs 50%, Finnish midcaps 40%
  • Pass rate: ~25%
  • Next deadline: 19 March 2026
