EIC Accelerator 2026 – Key Application Dates Announced

The European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator programme remains the EU’s flagship funding instrument for ambitious SMEs developing breakthrough innovations with the potential to scale globally.

In 2026, the programme will include six cut-off dates for Stage 2 applications:

  • 7 January 2026
  • 4 March 2026
  • 6 May 2026
  • 8 July 2026
  • 2 September 2026
  • 3 November 2026

The European Commission will confirm the final dates by the end of December 2025.

Application Process

The EIC Accelerator follows a two-stage application procedure:

  • Stage 1: Short application, consisting of a written proposal, a pitch deck, and a 3-minute video. Applications may be submitted at any time, with an indicative processing period of 4–6 weeks.
  • Stage 2: Upon a successful outcome in Stage 1, applicants are invited to submit a full application by one of the fixed cut-off dates listed above.

Funding Opportunities

The programme targets innovative SMEs pursuing high-risk, high-impact technologies and business models. Support is offered in two complementary forms:

  • Up to €2.5 million in grant funding (covering up to 70% of eligible project costs).
  • Up to €10 million in equity investment through the EIC Fund.

This blended finance model enables SMEs to both develop and scale radical innovations while strengthening their competitiveness in global markets.
